Comet in night sky over outback Australia,
C/2006 in the south western sky January 23rd 2007. The comet also known as Comet McNaught after the Australian astronomer who discovered it in 2006 was between 135 and 150 million kilometres from earth when at its brightest. C/2006 was the brightest comet in our sky since 1965.
